CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The local art scene is getting a youthful infusion this month as the fourth annual Best of Pickaway County High Schools Art Show officially opens its doors. The exhibition, hosted at the ArtsaRound Gallery, celebrates the diverse creative talents of students from across the region.
This year’s show features a massive collection of 212 original pieces, ranging from traditional paintings and detailed drawings to complex mixed-media and 3D sculptures. The event highlights students from Teays Valley, Logan Elm, Circleville, and New Hope High Schools.

A Professional Stage for Student Talent
The exhibition is a collaborative effort between ArtsaRound and local art educators Jody Hall (Teays Valley), Albert Chappalear (Circleville), Kelly Montgomery (Logan Elm), and Harley Casey (New Hope). For many of these young artists, it is their first opportunity to see their work hanging in a professional public gallery.
“This show continues to grow each year, and the level of talent on display is incredible,” said Steve Sawyer, President of ArtsaRound and event coordinator. “It’s a great opportunity for students to share their work with the community and for visitors to experience the arts in a meaningful way.”
The Battle for the Traveling Trophy
Beyond the artistic prestige, there is also a bit of friendly competition in the air. While a panel of judges will present awards across multiple categories—including the coveted Best of Show—the community also gets a vote.
Visitors to the gallery are invited to support their favorite school during the exhibit. The school that receives the most community support will earn the traveling trophy for the upcoming year.
Visit the Gallery
The public is encouraged to visit throughout the month of April to experience the vibrant display and cast their votes. ArtsaRound, a volunteer-led nonprofit, remains dedicated to providing a creative connection point for the Pickaway County community.
