LOGAN, Ohio — A Washington County man will spend the next 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of two minors, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced Friday.

Paul Sebring, 54, of Marietta, was sentenced in Hocking County Common Pleas Court following his June 17 guilty pleas to one count of rape, two counts of gross sexual imposition, and one count of obstructing official business.

“Only a deeply disturbed mind could derive pleasure from a child’s suffering,” said Attorney General Yost. “Today’s sentence prevents this predator and his sick impulses from causing further harm to vulnerable children.”

Sebring’s sentencing comes nearly a year after his co-defendant, 44-year-old Irene Marie Day of Logan, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on September 17, 2024, for her involvement in the same case.

The investigation was led by the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, with prosecution handled by Yost’s Special Prosecutions Section.

Authorities say the convictions are the result of a coordinated and thorough investigation into the abuse of two juvenile victims, bringing justice to the survivors and accountability to the offenders.
