UPDATE – Two-Vehicle Crash in Pickaway County Leaves Multiple Injured

A two-vehicle crash in Harrison Township, Pickaway County, on Sunday, August 3, 2025, resulted in multiple injuries and significant vehicle damage, according to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Walnut Creek Pike and State Route 752.

Deputy Jarrid Daily, badge number 15, arrived at the scene at 4:35 p.m. after the crash was dispatched at 4:28 p.m. The collision involved a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Rebecca Lynn Salyer, 60, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and a 2013 Honda Crosstour, driven by Joel Christopher Frommeyer, 56, of Sugar Grove, Ohio. Salyer, traveling northbound on Walnut Creek Pike, failed to yield at the stop sign at the SR 752 intersection, where Frommeyer had the right of way traveling eastbound. The Crosstour struck the Colorado, causing disabling damage to both vehicles, which were towed by A&L.

The crash, occurring on a straight, level, undivided two-way road with four lanes and a 55 mph speed limit, took place under clear weather and dry conditions. Both drivers were cited: Salyer for failure to yield the right-of-way at a through highway (Ohio Revised Code 4511.43), with citation number 006500000001508032500, while no charges were listed for Frommeyer. The scene was cleared by 5:42 p.m. after a 104-minute investigation.

Injuries were reported, Salyer and her passenger, William Bernard Salyer, 61, were transported by Harrison EMS to Grant Medical Center with Serious Injuries. Frommeyer’s passenger was also transported to Grant with serious injuries also.. Safety equipment usage varied: Salyer and her passenger used shoulder and lap belts, with airbags deploying for Salyer but not her passenger; Frommeyer’s airbag deployed. No entrapment or ejection occurred, though some required extrication. Neither driver was distracted nor under the influence, with alcohol and drug tests showing no detectable levels.
