
HARRISON TOWNSHIP, OH — A two-vehicle crash occurred on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 4:27 PM EDT at the intersection of Duvall Road and US-762 in Harrison Township, according to a report released by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office the collision resulted in minor injuries and significant vehicle damage, with one driver cited for a traffic violation.
The incident involved a 2020 red Honda Civic driven by Sandra J. Whitaker, 43, of Ashville, OH, and a 2018 black Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by Emma Marie Jacobs, 34, also of Ashville, OH. Whitaker, traveling westbound on US-762, struck the right rear side of Jacobs’ vehicle, which was moving westbound on Duvall Road through the roundabout. The impact caused the Trailblazer to overturn onto its roof, while the Civic sustained severe front and driver-side damage. Both vehicles experienced airbag deployment and were towed by Fletcher’s Towing due to disabling damage.
Jacobs and her two young children, were trapped in the vehicle and extricated by the Harrison Township Fire Department. Emma and Thomas reported minor injuries, while Violet and Sandra sustained possible injuries. Sandra was transported by Harrison Township EMS to Mount Carmel Grove City for treatment, while the Jacobs family declined further medical transport. All occupants used appropriate safety equipment, with the children in child restraint systems.
The crash occurred on a dry, asphalt roadway under clear daylight conditions, with a posted speed limit of 20 mph. Whitaker was cited under Ohio Revised Code 4511.43B for failing to yield at the intersection. No alcohol, drugs, or distractions were suspected, and both drivers were in normal condition. The roadway was closed for 75 minutes.
