
CONCORD TOWNSHIP, OH – The Ross County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rear-end traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 9:30 PM EDT.
The incident, documented under local report number SO-P2503057, took place on Westfall Road near 8127 Westfall Rd, involving two vehicles and resulting in Serious injuries
.According to the report, Unit 1, a 2024 Kia K5 driven by a 17-year-old juvenile who lives off SR-28, Frankfort, was traveling north when it struck the rear of Unit 2, identified as a bicycle operated by 56-year-old Ronnie Dale Pettiford of, Frankfort, causing serious injuries.
The Juvenile was cited for assured clear distance under Ohio Revised Code 4511.21A, with an estimated speed of 55 mph in a 55 mph zone. She sustained possible injuries and was not transported, while Pettiford, the bicyclist, suffered Serious injuries and was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center by Concord Township EMS. Both vehicles sustained damage, with Unit 1’s undercarriage affected.
No alcohol or drugs were suspected, and both drivers were deemed apparently normal.
