
CHILLICOTHE, OH – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that took place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at approximately 3:11 p.m. EDT near milepost 0 on State Route 41 in Paxton Township, Ross County, with an update released at 9:11 a.m. EDT on Monday, June 23, 2025. The incident has left multiple individuals injured, requiring both air and ground emergency transports.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2002 Chevrolet S-10, driven by 72-year-old Omer Abner of Hillsboro, Ohio, was traveling southeast when it veered left of center, colliding with a 2018 Ford F-150 driven by 23-year-old Candace Ramey of Peebles, Ohio. Abner sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by MedFlight to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Ramey reported minor injuries and did not require transport, though her vehicle carried two passengers: 26-year-old Kenneth Blair of Piketon, Ohio, and a juvenile from Peebles. Blair, also with serious injuries, was taken by Paxton/Bainbridge EMS to Highland District Hospital and is scheduled for transfer to Wexner Medical Center. The juvenile was not reported as injured.
Assisting at the scene were Paint Creek Township Fire and EMS and Paxton/Bainbridge Fire and EMS. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, with further details to be released as they become available.
