PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — Two long-vacant buildings in Pickaway County have been targeted for removal as part of ongoing efforts to revitalize local properties through the Pickaway County Brownfield Grant and Demolition Grant programs.

The former New Holland Storefront, located at 33 E. Front Street in New Holland, recently completed its pre-demolition survey on November 27, 2024. The structure was awarded $51,600 in grant funding, and demolition is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the former bait shop at 1030 S. Court Street in Circleville was successfully demolished in June. That project received $27,900 in demolition funding after also completing its pre-demolition survey in November 2024. Before-and-after photos of the site show the transformation made possible through the program.

Both projects are part of the county’s continued efforts to eliminate hazardous and underused structures while making room for future development and improving neighborhood aesthetics.

Residents or property owners interested in applying for funding through these grant programs are encouraged to contact P3 (Pickaway Progress Partnership) for more information on eligibility and application steps.
