UPDATE – Monday Morning House Fire in Stoutsville Turns Fatal

CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Authorities are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred Monday morning in Clearcreek Township.

According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and the Clearcreek Township Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting a structure fire at approximately 11:06 a.m. on Feb. 9 at a residence in the 10000 block of Dozer Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters located three occupants inside the home. A man and a woman were injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment. A second occupant was found deceased inside the residence.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau and the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office are jointly investigating the cause and origin of the fire. Officials have not released the identities of those involved, pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities stated there is no known threat to public safety and no ongoing risk to the community. No additional information was immediately available.
