
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a range of incidents on January 23, including traffic violations, warrant arrests, and a report of criminal trespass, according to the department’s daily media report released Friday.
Police activity began shortly after midnight when officers conducted a traffic stop near Eastern Avenue and South McArthur Street, resulting in a citation for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. Minutes later, another traffic stop on East 7th Street and South Sugar Street was initiated for failure to obey traffic control devices. That case remains under investigation.
At approximately 12:33 a.m., officers made contact with a male walking near North Sugar Street who matched the description of an individual with an active warrant. The individual was taken into custody. A separate warrant-related incident occurred around 2:14 a.m. when officers stopped a bicycle near the McDonald’s on North Bridge Street. That investigation is ongoing.

Later in the morning, police issued a traffic citation on North High Street after a driver was observed running a red light. Additional reports throughout the day included incidents logged on Delaware Drive and Linn Street, though details were limited in the media summary.
In the early afternoon, police handled a case involving receiving stolen property and hit-skip. Later, officers served three Chillicothe City warrants to Stephen Spencer at the Ross County Jail. The warrants included charges of misuse of 911 and two counts of theft. Spencer is being held in lieu of bond pending a court appearance.
The final reported incident occurred at 11:32 p.m., when officers were dispatched to 24 North Bridge Street for a report of criminal trespass involving a male subject.
