CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe police officers responded to a series of calls across the city on January 26, ranging from traffic violations and weather-related incidents to reported thefts and an assault investigation, according to the Chillicothe Police Department’s daily media report.

Late in the morning, officers were dispatched to an apartment on University Drive to assist the Chillicothe Fire Department on a medical call. The incident was later classified as a misuse of the 9-1-1 system, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Around the same time, police conducted multiple traffic stops throughout the city, including on West Main Street near Walnut Street and on South Paint Street near Main Street. Violations cited included expired plates, suspended licenses, and toy vehicles being operated on city streets.

Officers also responded to a hit-skip crash on Hirn Street late in the morning. The investigation into that accident is still pending. Another crash was reported early in the afternoon involving failure to control a vehicle and weaving across lanes, with a crash report taken by police.

Weather conditions tied to a Level 3 snow emergency contributed to at least one non-criminal call involving a visitation and custody dispute on West Second Street. Officers assisted the involved parties, and the matter remains under review.

Later in the day, police were dispatched to East Main Street for a reported theft and criminal mischief complaint. That investigation is ongoing. In the evening hours, officers responded to Sherman Park following reports of a disorderly situation that escalated into an assault investigation.

The final call of the night involved a reported domestic dispute at an apartment on South Walnut Street. Police responded to the scene, and the matter remains under investigation.

All incidents are pending further review, and additional information may be released as investigations continue.
