SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, OH – A routine traffic stop on U.S. 23 Tuesday night led South Bloomfield police officers to take a wanted individual into custody and seize a significant quantity of fentanyl.

According to the South Bloomfield Police Department, officers pulled over a vehicle around 9:30 p.m. on July 15, 2025. One of the occupants was found to have an active arrest warrant and was detained. During the arrest, officers discovered a sock containing six bags of white powder.

Subsequent testing revealed the substance to be approximately 140 grams of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid.
