Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance after a 2025 John Deere tractor was reportedly stolen from a Lancaster equipment dealership earlier this year.
According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, the theft occurred January 12 at approximately 5:30 a.m. at Ag-Pro, located at 1200 Delmont Road in Lancaster.
Investigators say an unknown suspect drove a newer-model red pickup truck — possibly a Chevrolet — pulling an enclosed trailer onto the business lot during the early morning hours. Authorities allege the suspect loaded a 2025 John Deere 1025R tractor equipped with a backhoe and front-end loader before leaving the property.
The total value of the stolen equipment has not been publicly released.
The Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau has released surveillance images showing a red pickup truck and trailer entering the lot and is asking anyone who may recognize the vehicle or have information about the theft to come forward.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Patrol Investigator Roderick at 740-652-7912 or by email at [email protected].
The investigation remains ongoing.
The case has drawn attention within the local agricultural community, as compact utility tractors like the John Deere 1025R are widely used by farmers, landscapers and property owners throughout Fairfield County.
