Grant to PICCA’s HEAP program aims to keep residents warm
during extreme cold
The Well Being Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Pickaway County
Community Action (PICCA) for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). This
funding will help ensure that local families have the support they need to stay warm this
winter.
HEAP, a federally funded program, assists Pickaway County residents with their home
energy bills. The program is especially critical during periods of extreme cold, when
vulnerable households face the highest risk. “These funds are absolutely crucial for the
families who are experiencing an unexpected crisis,” said Jonna Motter, Executive
Director of PICCA. “They allow us to extend our reach and offer meaningful support to
individuals who are in desperate need, especially during the temperatures we are
currently facing. This additional funding allows us to be flexible to meet families in their
time of need.
This grant is part of the Well Being Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting the
community. In 2025 alone, the Foundation provided over $538,000 in grants to local
agencies, strengthening essential services across Pickaway County. Their support for
HEAP highlights their dedication to meeting urgent needs and fostering a healthier,
safer environment for all.
The mission of the Well Being Foundation is to enhance the overall well-being of
Pickaway County. This mission is being attained through strategic grantmaking and
community partnerships. The Foundation remains focused on ensuring individuals have
access to vital resources, including safe and reliable heating during the winter months.
