As Americans gear up for one of the busiest holiday travel weekends of the year, the forecast — both meteorological and logistical — suggests conditions may get bumpy before turkey time.

🌧️ Weather Headaches for Midwest Travelers

If you’re driving or flying from Ohio and nearby regions, be prepared for possible weather trouble. • Yet, the road to that busyness has been rocky — weeks of reduced air‑traffic‑control staffing and recent flight‑cancellation orders have already caused thousands of flight cancellations and delays.
  • On top of that, winter‑weather systems sweeping across large parts of the country — including rain, snow, wind, and potential storms — threaten to worsen disruptions, especially for travelers flying through Midwest, Northeast, or Great Lakes hubs.

One recent update warns that more than 1,000 flights have already been canceled today, and dozens more delayed — with increasing pressure on airlines and airports to keep up with demand under less-than-ideal weather.
