TEAYS VALLEY, OH – Teays Valley Schools Superintendent Kyle Wolf provided an update this week highlighting both accomplishments and challenges for the district’s student-athletes.

The district addressed an incident from Friday night’s football game against Logan, which was canceled in the second quarter due to an on-field altercation. Wolf emphasized that sportsmanship is a top priority for Teays Valley, its athletic department, and the school. The district is awaiting statements from the game officials and the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) before making any decisions regarding student actions. Wolf assured that any necessary measures will be taken to address the situation.

Despite the setback in football, Teays Valley student-athletes celebrated major successes across multiple programs. Both the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams finished the season as district runners-up, while the girls’ volleyball team also secured a district runner-up finish.

In marching arts, the Golden Sound of the Vikings marching band competed in the state band contest for the 14th consecutive year and earned a Superior Rating, continuing a longstanding tradition of excellence. Wolf congratulated band directors Miss Smith and Mr. McGee, along with all senior band members, for their outstanding performances.

Cross country teams also excelled, with three boys competing in the regional meet at Pickerington North. Two of the three achieved personal records. Meanwhile, the girls’ soccer team, coached by Zach Frank, made history by qualifying for the Division I State Tournament for the first time in school history.

Cheerleaders also had an impressive showing, placing first in their division at the UCA regional competition and earning an automatic bid to nationals.

Wolf praised all student-athletes for their hard work and dedication, saying, “It’s going to be a great week in the Valley. We look forward to cheering on our Vikings in the upcoming events.”

The school district continues to celebrate its tradition of excellence, with accomplishments across athletics, arts, and academics contributing to a proud Viking legacy.
