Pickaway and Ross County Districts Among Ohio’s Auditor Award Winners
COLUMBUS, OH — July 2, 2025 — Two local school districts in southern Ohio are being celebrated for their exceptional financial stewardship. Teays Valley Local School District in Pickaway County and Southeastern Local School District in Ross County have earned the prestigious Auditor of State Award, according to an announcement this week by Ohio Auditor Keith Faber.
The award honors local governments and school districts across the state that achieve “clean” audit reports — a mark of integrity, accountability, and sound financial management.
“By keeping accurate financial records, governing bodies demonstrate their commitment to efficient, effective, and transparent service,” said Auditor Faber. “This award honors public entities that have put in the hard work to keep their finances in order.”
To qualify for the award, entities must meet strict criteria, including:
- Filing financial reports on time in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Having no findings for recovery, material weaknesses, or audit citations
- Demonstrating compliance with public records, ethics, and financial reconciliation standards
Teays Valley and Southeastern were among more than 50 school districts, housing authorities, and public agencies statewide recognized for their clean audits in May.
The recognition places both Pickaway and Ross Counties on a short list of communities maintaining high standards in public fiscal oversight — a point of pride for residents and taxpayers alike.
