CHILLICOTHE, OH — The beloved Street Cat Zine Fest is back for its ninth year, bringing a vibrant celebration of DIY art, zine culture, and local creativity to Chillicothe on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Hosted at the Scioto Township Hall Building from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the free, family-friendly event promises an afternoon filled with artistic inspiration and community connection.

The festival will feature local zinesters, artists, and makers from across Appalachia and beyond. Visitors will be able to explore a wide range of handmade zines, original artwork, and crafts, along with live performances that highlight the power of grassroots creativity.

This year’s highlights include a poetry reading by J.I.B. and an acoustic set by musician GraceLynn Holloway, adding a soulful and literary touch to the bustling vendor lineup. Attendees are also encouraged to participate in the creation of a collaborative zine by contributing their own page on-site, embodying the hands-on, expressive spirit of the event.

“Street Cat Zine Fest is about coming together to celebrate diverse voices and creative expressions,” said Stephanie Renner, founder of the festival and Cheering and Waving Press. “This year’s event will be a true reflection of the community’s talent, passion, and individuality.”

Whether you’re a longtime zine lover or just curious about the DIY art scene, Street Cat Zine Fest 9 offers something for everyone—and admission is completely free.
