Vinton County Film Company Apparently Scooped the Story
Chillicothe, Ross County, & the Regional Economy — News of a medical glove manufacturer buying the Chillicothe paper mill was published Wednesday. Three news stories have supplied partial confirmation of that, as well as of a big event about the sale on Friday.
“Stellar Films Motion Pictures” in Vinton County eventually posted two stories on their website. WBNS 10TV out of Columbus appears to be the only other news media with solid information, at this time of reporting on the evening of October 8th, 2025.
The big picture is that apparently U.S. Medical Glove Company based in Illinois already has trucks on-site, expects to hire at least 500 people, and plans to be in operation in three to four weeks.
U.S. senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted are expected to attend Friday’s announcement at the former paper plant, with Vice President J.D. Vance also rumored.
I first learned of this from a tip leading to a post on the Southern Ohio Bulletin Board on Facebook (members only), that shared a news article by the “Stellar Films Motion Pictures” in Vinton County…which I was unfamilliar with.
WBNS 10TV reported on Wednesday afternoon:
“US Medical Glove Company based in Harvard, Illinois, is expected to hire at least 500 people, sources tell 10TV. The company has told county leaders that once it has staff in place, it expects to be in operation within three to four weeks.
In their morning story, and a following afternoon story, Dakota J. Dunn of the “Stellar News Desk” at Stellar Films Motion Pictures reported:
“A glove production company has purchased the facility and has already begun moving equipment into the site…
“Local leaders confirmed that the glove manufacturer intends to repurpose the facility for large-scale production of protective gloves….
“In a sign of the project’s significance, it is rumored the Vice President of the United States is scheduled to visit the Chillicothe facility either on Friday, October 10, 2025 or in the coming weeks…”

10TV further reported that they “reached out to Pixelle for comment but said, ‘There is no information to report at this time.’
“Unlike Pixelle, US Medical Glove Company is non-union.
“10TV contacted the Ross County Auditor’s Office to confirm the sale Wednesday afternoon. The auditor said he was aware of the deal, but had not received the electronic paperwork.
“U.S. senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted are expected to attend Friday’s announcement at the former paper plant.
US Medical Glove Company is not one of the previously rumored paper mill buyers early in the crisis…that started with the announcement of the closure of “Pixelle Solutions” on April 15th.
