The J. M. Smucker Co. has announced a market withdrawal of certain Hostess® Ding Dongs® products sold in the United States after concerns that some packages may contain mold.
The withdrawal, dated August 21, 2025, applies only to specific lots of Hostess® Chocolate Ding Dongs® in single-serve, 10-count, and 16-count packages. Affected products carry “Best By” dates of August 30, 2025, through September 3, 2025.
Products included in the withdrawal:
- UPC 8-88109-01002 – Hostess® Chocolate Ding Dong Single Serve, 2 ct. (Best By: Aug. 30–Sept. 3, 2025)
- UPC 8-88109-11061 – Hostess® Chocolate Ding Dong, 10 ct.
- UPC 8-88109-11092 – Hostess® Chocolate Ding Dong Family Pack, 16 ct.
No other Smucker products are affected by this issue.
Consumers who purchased the impacted Ding Dongs® are urged not to consume them. Instead, items may be returned to the store where they were purchased for a refund or replacement.
