Six Defendants Appear in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court on April 30

CIRCLEVILLE, OH — Judge Matthew H. Chafin presided over several felony cases in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The docket included a range of charges from drug offenses and theft to assault and forgery. Here’s a breakdown of the proceedings:

  • Derrick M. West, 37, currently held in the Pickaway County Jail, faced a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs of Abuse (F4). He was granted a 3-year judicial release with conditions including completion of the STAR program, a 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew (except for employment), employment requirements, and prohibitions on drug/alcohol use, driving, and contact with felons or drug users. His driving privileges are suspended until March 2034.
  • Corey Blue, 49, also in custody at the Pickaway County Jail, was charged with Felonious Assault (F2). He received a similar 3-year judicial release with curfew, employment, and probationary program requirements. He must check into the SAFE program through Circleville Municipal Court and is barred from contact with the victim.
  • Brandon Delpesco, 38, is facing multiple charges: Assault (F4), Vandalism (F4), and Strangulation (F5). He entered a not guilty plea by reason of insanity. He was found competent to stand trial, and the court ordered a Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) evaluation.
  • Donald Cox, 39, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property (F4). He pleaded not guilty and is set for a pre-trial hearing on May 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. He was released on a recognizance bond and ordered to stay away from the victim.
  • Andre Joel Daniels Jr., 70, of Columbus, Ohio, faced charges of Forgery (F5) and Theft (F5). He was sentenced to 3 years of community control, including 12-month suspended concurrent sentences. His conditions include curfew, no drug/alcohol use, no contact with felons, and restitution of $3,668 to Homeland Credit Union.
  • Harley Wayne McDonald, 34, of Newark, Ohio, was charged with multiple drug-related felonies: Aggravated Possession of Drugs (F3, F5) and Illegal Conveyance of Drugs onto the Grounds of a Detention Facility or Institution (F3). McDonald failed to appear in court, and a capias warrant was issued for his arrest.
