
WAVERLY, Ohio–July 22, 2025–Recent Chillicothe High School graduate Jesslynn Wachovec is the 2025 Rumpke Waste & Recycling Scholarship for Ross County winner. This scholarship awards $1,000.00 to a graduate in Ross County, Ohio, pursuing a two or four-year degree at an accredited institution, including vocational/trade schools.
Winners are chosen based on their commitment to their academics, environmental stewardship and desire to serve the community. Jesslynn plans to attend Ohio University to study Sports Medicine.
Jesslynn’s advanced Psychology course influenced her to pursue a career in the medical field.
“After taking this class, it solidified my plans on wanting to focus on a medical career and to continue learning about what psychology has to offer in the real world,” Jesslynn writes in her application essay.
Jesslynn also took on various leadership roles, such as secretary in the student council and treasurer of Tri-M, a music honors society. She was also highly involved in community service initiatives as a member of the National Honors Society and Beta Club.
“Jesslynn is a true steward of her local and school community, and we’re pleased to support her plans and goals with this scholarship award,” said Rumpke Regional Vice President Bill Youck.
