The Ross County Unit of the NAACP announced with deep sadness the passing of B. Wayne McLaughlin, a dedicated civil rights advocate, longtime Political Action Chair, and respected community leader.

McLaughlin, remembered as a tireless champion for those less fortunate, served the organization for many years and played a critical role in advancing civil rights efforts throughout Ross County and across Ohio. His leadership, compassion, and commitment to community service earned him respect statewide.

In addition to his work with the NAACP, McLaughlin served on numerous community boards and was known for his willingness to help wherever he was needed. Members of the organization say his contributions made a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.

“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of our faithful member and friend,” said Adrienne L. D’Souza, President of the Ross County NAACP. “Wayne’s dedication to improving the quality of life in our community was unwavering, and his legacy will continue to inspire us.”

The NAACP is asking the public to keep McLaughlin’s family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
