CHILLICOTHE, OH — A 39-year-old man is in custody in Ross County following a violent attempted burglary and a vehicle pursuit that ended in his arrest, according to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the Massieville Road area in Chillicothe around 6 pm on Friday after a 911 caller reported an aggravated burglary and an assault involving a weapon. The caller also indicated they had sustained injuries during the incident.

Upon arrival, deputies issued a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for the suspect, who had fled the scene. Shortly thereafter, deputies located the man, later identified as Dustin Nunley.

When deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Nunley allegedly fled, leading officers on a vehicle pursuit. He was eventually captured and taken into custody without further incident.

Nunley has been charged with felonious assault, aggravated burglary, failure to comply with a lawful order, and vandalism. He is currently being held without bond at the Ross County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
