CHILLICOTHE, OH – August 8, 2025 — A Chillicothe woman was arrested Thursday evening following a chaotic traffic stop that escalated into a drug investigation, arrest, and hospital clearance for possible fentanyl use.

According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:36 p.m. on August 7, Deputy Ariana Williamson was patrolling Charleston Pike near Dunkard Hill Road when a silver Acura veered across the double yellow line and nearly struck her patrol vehicle head-on. Deputy Williamson initiated a traffic stop, which led to the arrest of 19-year-old Beth Greeno.

Greeno exited the vehicle immediately after being pulled over, saying, “Sorry about that,” and ignored repeated orders to stay inside. She initially refused to identify herself, gave a false age, and attempted to argue with the deputy before resisting arrest. Officers reported she appeared heavily impaired, with constricted pupils, labored breathing, and white powder in her nose.

During the confrontation, Greeno physically resisted being handcuffed, refused to follow commands, and had to be restrained with force. Deputy Brandon Stanley arrived to assist and observed Greeno actively resisting and refusing to comply.

A search of the vehicle revealed several pieces of burnt foil and a small baggie containing white powder residue — both commonly associated with fentanyl use. Greeno later admitted she had snorted a small amount of fentanyl just moments before being stopped, prompting deputies to call EMS to the scene. She refused treatment and insisted she was “withdrawing” but not overdosing.

Deputies noted Greeno exhibited multiple signs of opiate use, including non-reactive pupils and erratic behavior. She failed several sobriety indicators, such as a countdown test and eye-tracking exam, and refused to complete others at the jail.

Greeno was charged with:

  • Obstructing Official Business (for failing to identify herself and lying about her age)
  • Resisting Arrest
  • OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired)
  • Driving Without a License
  • Tampering With Evidence (for snorting fentanyl during the stop)
  • Drug Paraphernalia Possession

Due to concerns about a possible overdose, Greeno was taken to the hospital for clearance before being transported to the Ross County Jail, where she was booked. Deputies also cited her for failure to stay in marked lanes. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Authorities say Greeno told them, “These charges will just get dropped, because that’s what this county always does,” and made a remark asking God to “give me Street,” after learning a new judge had taken the bench.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the evidence was documented and collected, and body cameras were active throughout the incident.
