Chillicothe and Ross County — On a hot day in August, the Ross County Democratic Party opened their new headquarters – as the electioneering season continues to warm up. In office space at 68 North Walnut Street, across the street from Carl’s Town House, members of the local party showed their new digs on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025.

Chillicothe Mayor Luke Feeney explained the site to me, admitting that the party was without office space before this location. He pointed out that this is the kick-off to the political season, after the fair and the start of school – with all the yard signs waiting to be picked up.

He also explained the difference between the Ross County Democratic Party, which is the official political organization, and the Ross County Democratic Club, which takes care of the more social aspects like volunteering to pick up trash along highways.

The office will be open 4 to 6 on Wednesdays…with increased hours as the election season heats up.

The next Ross County Democratic event will be their annual fish fry “FUNdraiser” at the Pump House Center for the Arts. (Apparently it has been rescheduled from the 18th to September 25th, with a special guest.)

The Ross County Democratic Party has website and a Facebook page, and so does the the Ross County Democratic Club. The Democratic Club has monthly meetings at the headquarters on second Wednesdays. Party chair Dona Meyer can be contacted at [email protected].
