LANCASTER — Emergency crews rushed to Rising Park on Monday after a person reportedly fell from the top of the bluff, prompting a high-angle technical rescue.
When police and firefighters arrived, they located the individual on the mountainside and began rescue operations. During the challenging recovery effort, two firefighters were injured.
In total, two people—including the original fall victim—were transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released. A medical Helicopter transported one victim to Grant Medical in serious condition.
Multiple departments assisted in the rescue, which drew heavy response due to the location and complexity of the terrain. Officials have not yet identified those involved, and the incident remains under investigation.
