PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — A New Holland man previously convicted of child sex crimes is behind bars again, after pleading guilty to a fresh set of disturbing charges involving the sexual abuse of two young boys.
Joseph Everts, 35, is currently being held in the Pickaway County Jail after investigators reportedly obtained video evidence of the abuse. Everts, a registered sex offender, was previously convicted in 2017 for Illegal Use of a Minor in Nudity-Oriented Material.
This week, Everts pleaded guilty to multiple felonies, including:
- Sexual Battery
- Gross Sexual Imposition
- Importuning
- Pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor
- In total, Pickaway County charged Everts with a total of 71 charges of abuse, but in court this week he pleaded guilty to 33 of them.
Authorities say several of these charges are first- and second-degree felonies, reflecting the severe nature of the alleged offenses.
Everts is now being held awaiting a PSI pre-sentencing investigation.
