CIRCLEVILLE — More than 100 tickets were sold for the “Purses for a Purpose” fundraiser held December 2, 2025, at the Zwicker House — and the event exceeded all expectations. Thanks to generous bidders, donors, sponsors, and volunteers, the evening raised a total of $10,932.28 for the Pickaway Amanda Blessings in a Backpack program.

Organizers said the money will be used to provide thousands of weekend meals to children in the community who rely on the program for nutrition support.

Volunteers, bidders, and sponsors — many of whom donated purses, cash, or auction items — all played a part in the event’s success. Attendees filled the Zwicker House with energy and enthusiasm, fueling lively bidding and a strong sense of community support.

“The generosity of our community truly shone tonight. Every contribution — whether a purse, a donation, or your time — helped make this possible.”

Organizers extended their thanks to:

  • Those who donated purses or cash for the auction
  • Sponsors who provided essential event support
  • Volunteers who helped run the event smoothly
  • And all attendees who came ready to bid

With nearly $11,000 raised, the program will be able to stock up on essential meals to support children in need in Pickaway County — a tangible example of the community coming together to help its youngest members.

Attendees were also encouraged to mark their calendars: the next “Purses for a Purpose” event is scheduled for December 1, 2026.
