Police Blotter: Chillicothe Officers Respond to Traffic Stops, Trespassing, and Disorderly Conduct on July 25

CHILLICOTHE, OH – July 26, 2025 — The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a variety of incidents across the city on Thursday, July 25, ranging from traffic violations to reports of trespassing and disorderly behavior.

Traffic Stops & Vehicle Violations

  • At 12:02 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop near E Main Street and Rennick Avenue for improper display of plates. The driver was found to be under a license suspension due to Failure to Reinstate and Random Verification.
  • At 4:00 p.m., another traffic stop was conducted in the area of E 7th Street and Watt Street after a white Ford truck was observed without a visible license plate. The driver, identified as Clarence Counts, was also found to be under a Non-Compliance Suspension. A temporary tag was later discovered, but it was obstructed by material in the truck bed.
  • Police responded to a crash involving marked lane violations at McDonald’s on Western Avenue around 5:42 p.m.. The investigation is ongoing.

Disorderly Conduct & Trespassing

  • At 5:51 a.m., officers were called to Ingle Barr Inc. on Plyleys Lane for a disorderly conduct and trespassing complaint.
  • At 8:26 a.m., a trespassing call brought officers to 1048 Western Avenue.
  • Later in the day at 4:36 p.m., a disorderly conduct incident was reported near Marietta Road and North Bridge Street. Another motor vehicle accident occurred at the same intersection just 10 minutes earlier at 4:26 p.m.
  • A domestic-related disorderly conduct was reported at 614 Commanche Road around 11:49 p.m.

Theft & Juvenile Investigation

  • A theft by deception (shoplifting) occurred at Rural King on North Bridge Street at 8:04 p.m., with complicity charges involved.
  • At 9:04 p.m., police were contacted by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a juvenile investigation.
  • Minutes later at 9:11 p.m., officers responded to 1221 Dolphin Street for a wanted person.
