PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office will once again bring holiday cheer to the community with its annual “Light The Sky” Christmas event, set for Monday, Dec. 22, 2025.
The festive procession of illuminated emergency vehicles will begin rolling at 6 p.m. from Ohio Christian University and travel throughout the county, passing by local nursing homes and assisted living facilities to spread holiday joy to residents who may be unable to attend traditional celebrations.
A special highlight of the evening will be a stop at OhioHealth Berger Hospital, where patients will be able to enjoy the colorful lights from their windows. Organizers say this stop also provides a perfect opportunity for participants to safely exit their vehicles and capture photos of the glowing display.

First responders from across the region are encouraged to take part in the event. Law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and EMS units are invited to bring all available equipment — from cruisers to fire trucks — to help make the procession as dazzling as possible.
Agencies interested in participating are asked to RSVP to Chief Deputy Brown at [email protected] or Deputy Pete Bowers at [email protected]. Participants should include details about the equipment they plan to bring and the number of personnel attending. Route information and radio frequencies will be provided closer to the event.
The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office thanked participating agencies and community partners in advance, noting that the event is designed to brighten the holidays for residents facing difficult circumstances and to showcase the strong spirit of cooperation among first responders.
