PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A Pickaway County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident at his home, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

Deputy Alfredo Martinez Magana, 30, was taken into custody on Friday and is currently being held in jail pending a court appearance scheduled for Monday, where bail and conditions of release will be determined.

Sources tell Scioto Post that the incident involved an alleged assault on Magana’s wife and that he reportedly brandished his firearm during the altercation.

Magana has been employed with the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office since 2021. Prior to that, he served as a police officer for the Village of Ashville.

Officials have placed Magana on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation and Union processes.

The case remains under review, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
