CIRCLEVILLE, OH – As summer temperatures soar, a new Cooling Center is opening in Pickaway County to provide a safe, cool refuge for those without access to relief, with the initiative launched at 2:00 PM EDT today, Sunday, June 22, 2025, as reported at 1:47 PM EDT. Hosted by Vineyard Church at 911 S. Pickaway St., Circleville, OH 43113, the center embodies a community-driven response to rising heat challenges, guided by compassion and justice.

Operating from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. when temperatures exceed 93 degrees, the center’s hours will adjust based on need. The church invites community members to join the effort by volunteering to greet and care for guests, donating essential supplies like bottled water, fans, or hygiene products, or helping spread the word to those in need. “Your role matters deeply,” organizers emphasized, calling for a collective response rooted in humility, mercy, and love.

This Cooling Center aims to be a shelter of hope and comfort, addressing the growing demand for respite as heat-related risks increase. For more information or to contribute, contact Vineyard Church directly.
