Pickaway County Common Pleas Court Issues Rulings on July 9, 2025

CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The Pickaway County Common Pleas Court, presided over by Honorable Judge Matthew H. Chafin, handed down several criminal dispositions on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. The rulings addressed a range of charges, including drug possession, weapons violations, and theft.

Brian K. Johnson, 42, of Circleville, pleaded no contest to possession of drugs (F-5) and was ordered not to leave the state, with a pretrial set for July 17, 2025.

Dominie Vatorella, 19, from an ODRC facility, pleaded guilty to harassment with a bodily substance and received a 3.12-month consecutive sentence in Stark County

.James E. Fox, 79, of Circleville, faced multiple charges: theft in office (F-5), soliciting or accepting improper compensation (F-1), and an additional count of soliciting. He pleaded no contest, was ordered not to leave the state, and has a pretrial scheduled for August 14, 2025.

Paul L. Beane, 26, of Circleville, pleaded guilty to having weapons while under disability (F-3) and was ordered to post bond and undergo a PSI (Presentence Investigation).

These cases reflect the court’s ongoing efforts to address criminal activity in the region, with sentencing and further proceedings pending for several defendants.
