
CHILLICOTHE, OH – February 26, 2026 – Chillicothe Police responded to a variety of incidents across the city on February 25, including a non-suspicious death investigation, traffic crashes, disorderly conduct complaints, and drug-related calls.
Non-Suspicious Death Reported on South Paint Street
Officers were dispatched at 6:02 a.m. to 253 S. Paint Street after a report of a person lying in a parking lot. According to the Chillicothe Police Department, the death is being investigated but is not considered suspicious at this time.
Telecommunications Harassment Complaint
Police were called to the Law Enforcement Complex on North Paint Street at 11:34 a.m. regarding a telecommunications harassment complaint. The case remains under investigation.
Investigation at Chillicothe Intermediate School
At 12:03 p.m., Officer T. Boltenhouse was contacted by Chillicothe Intermediate School nurse Stacy McFarland regarding a situation on Arch Street. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
Found Property Turned In
Shortly after 12:30 p.m., found property was turned in at the police department on North Paint Street. The case remains open as officers work to identify the rightful owner.
Traffic Stop on Bridge Street
At 1:29 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near Bridge Street and Stewart Road, citing a driver for failure to display both license plates and operating a motorcycle without a proper endorsement.
Disorderly Conduct on South Watt Street
Police responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at 7:43 p.m. on South Watt Street. A report was taken and no further action was noted.
Two-Vehicle Crash on North Bridge Street
Around 8:13 p.m., officers responded to a rear-end crash near 212 N. Bridge Street. Police said a northbound vehicle struck another vehicle waiting to turn left into the AutoZone parking lot.
The driver, identified as Sharma Kutschbach, was cited for operating a vehicle with an expired license and assured clear distance ahead (ACDA). A court date has been scheduled.
Drug Paraphernalia Investigation
Late Tuesday night at 11:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to 10 N. Bridge Street for a welfare check. During the investigation, drug paraphernalia was reportedly discovered. That case remains under investigation.
