COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Department of Commerce (COM), in partnership with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS), will launch a new eLicense LPI (Licensing, Permitting, and Inspections) Portal in late October 2025, marking a major step toward a fully digital, paperless licensing system for Ohio businesses and professionals.

The new portal will allow users to submit applications, upload documents, make payments, and manage licenses entirely online. Officials say the eLicense LPI Portal will streamline processes, improve efficiency, and provide real-time updates on application status.

Key Features of the eLicense LPI Portal:

  • 24/7 Online Access & Self-Service: Apply, renew, and manage licenses anytime, anywhere.
  • Faster Turnaround: Automated approvals reduce delays caused by paper submissions.
  • Electronic Communications & Status Updates: Users receive real-time notifications on their applications.

Who Will Be Affected?
All REPL (Real Estate, Property, and Licensing) customers will transition to the new system. Groups impacted include: salespersons, brokers, brokerage firms, land professionals, appraisers, home inspectors, continuing education providers, cemetery operators, FRE dealers and salespersons, VSA, AMC, and federal AMC entities.

Next Steps: Create an OH|ID
To access the new portal, users must create an OH|ID, a secure digital identity platform used by Ohio residents and state employees. Those who already have an OH|ID for another state agency, such as the BMV or Ohio Taxation, can use their existing account.

To create an OH|ID, visit https://ohid.ohio.gov, click “Create Account,” and follow the prompts. For help, users can consult the step-by-step guide or contact the OH|ID Contact Center at 614-644-6443 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
