CIRCLEVILLE, OH — The Color Bar Hair Studio has received special recognition from the Ohio House of Representatives after winning the Decorated Window Contest at the 2025 Circleville Pumpkin Show, earning praise for their creativity, community spirit, and artistic flair.

The Ohio House resolution, issued on behalf of the 136th General Assembly, commended the local salon for its winning display, which captured this year’s show theme of “Peace, Love, and Pumpkins.” Lawmakers described the award as “a fitting tribute” to the salon’s professionalism, dedication, and positive influence in the Circleville community.

“Clearly, their vision and vitality have enhanced many lives, and we are certain that in the years to come, they will continue to display the same unwavering dedication to excellence for which they have become known,” the resolution read.

A Local Success Story

The Color Bar Hair Studio was founded by Phyllis Riffle, who initially planned to work independently before her passion for hair styling and client care attracted other talented professionals. Over the years, her team has grown into a close-knit group of stylists who share a commitment to quality, creativity, and community connection.

Today, the salon’s team includes Phyllis Riffle, Alisa Phillips, Danielle Dilley, Heather Foreman, Karie Holbrook, Elizabeth Glasspoole, and Justine Seimer—each bringing unique talents and a shared goal of making clients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident.

More Than a Salon

Phyllis has cultivated a warm and welcoming atmosphere where stylists and clients alike feel at home. Beyond hairstyling, the salon actively gives back to the community through donations and participation in local events — especially the Circleville Pumpkin Show, where stylist Karie Holbrook’s artistic eye often helps the team’s creative displays shine.

The Color Bar’s approach centers on connection, kindness, and care. “We’re more than a team—we’re a family,” the stylists said. “What sets us apart is the genuine connection we share with our clients, our community, and each other.”

This isn’t the first time the Color Bar has won recognition for their Pumpkin show displays that are next level. They have a tendency to win year after year.
