LANCASTER, OH — The Ohio Glass Museum has announced the return of Scott Fouché to Lancaster as its new Glass Studio Manager. Fouché, who previously worked as a glass artist in the museum’s hot glass studio, brings a wealth of experience and international insight to the role.
A graduate of Bloom-Carroll Local School District, Fouché studied fine art at The Ohio State University while apprenticing with prominent local glass artists. Since earning his bachelor’s degree in 2008, he has continued working with glass artists throughout the Midwest and abroad, including France, Italy, and Turkey.
“Scott’s travels and collaborations with accomplished glass artists have allowed him to master traditional hot glass techniques while exploring new, innovative methods,” said Museum Board President Dan Singer. “His knowledge of glass art history and contemporary practices will now be available to our patrons and students.”
In addition to his artistry, Fouché is an experienced instructor. He designs and creates custom functional and artistic glass pieces, including vases, lighting, and decanters. As an independent contractor, he collaborates with area artists, offers technical design consultations, and fabricates studio equipment for glass studios across the country. Fouché is also developing a mobile glass studio to bring demonstrations and art education to community festivals and corporate events.
At the Ohio Glass Museum, Fouché is already leading glassblowing classes and providing daily hot glass demonstrations. Interested students and enthusiasts can register for classes or learn more at www.ohioglassmuseum.org.
