COLUMBUS, OH – The state of Ohio has awarded a $310 million JobsOhio Grant to Anduril Industries, a leading U.S. defense contractor, to establish its first hyperscale manufacturing facility, Arsenal-1, in Columbus. The announcement, made on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 08:35 AM EDT, marks the largest job-creation project in Ohio’s history.
Over the next decade, Anduril plans to create 4,008 new jobs and generate over $530 million in payroll, supported by a capital investment of at least $910.5 million. The JobsOhio assistance will be disbursed over 10 years, with commitments required to be maintained for the remaining 20 years of the 30-year agreement. By 2035, when Arsenal-1 is fully operational, the average salary for its workers will exceed $132,305 annually, boosting payroll taxes for the Ohio Treasury for at least two decades.
Located near Rickenbacker Airport in Pickaway County, the 5-million-square-foot facility will produce tens of thousands of autonomous weapons, sensors, and systems annually. Its strategic site offers access to two 12,000-foot runways and a private apron for military-scale aircraft, ensuring rapid delivery. With over 500 acres available for expansion, the facility is designed to scale with demand, supporting national security objectives. The project is also expected to create 8,500 additional jobs in construction, suppliers, and related sectors.JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef hailed the move, stating, “This aligns with our goal to attract cutting-edge companies, creating generational opportunities for Ohio’s people and economy. Anduril’s choice of Pickaway County strengthens our global leadership in aerospace and aviation innovation.” He emphasized the value of Ohio’s skilled workforce, educational institutions, and supply chain advantages.
Governor Mike DeWine added, “Ohio’s aerospace and defense leadership is a perfect match for Anduril’s mission. Our skilled labor force will help deliver the next generation of autonomous systems, enhancing national security.”
The nearly $1 billion investment underscores Ohio’s commitment to advanced manufacturing and economic growth.
