CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (Aug. 22, 2025) — If you’re already planning your fall outings, the Climate Prediction Center has some good news. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released its seasonal weather outlook Thursday, predicting a warmer-than-average fall across much of the United States — including Ohio.

According to NOAA’s models, September through November is expected to bring temperatures 40–50% above the seasonal norm in nearly every corner of the country.

For central Ohio, that could mean milder weather for fall festivals, football games, and the beloved Circleville Pumpkin Show in October.

“What this outlook suggests is more campfires, longer evenings outside, and less worry about the chill setting in too soon,” forecasters said. “You might not need that sweater just yet, but you may want to stock up on pumpkin-themed t-shirts.”

The Circleville Pumpkin Show, which draws tens of thousands of visitors each year, often sees chilly weather. This fall, visitors may instead enjoy sunnier skies and warmer-than-usual days.
