CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – July 11, 2025 — New Story Schools officially opened its new campus in Circleville with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community open house held on July 10. Located at 1421 North Court Street, the newly renovated facility will begin serving students this upcoming school year, bringing specialized education and therapeutic services to Pickaway County and the surrounding region.
The event welcomed community members, educators, and local officials for a first look at the state-of-the-art facility, which features 15 classrooms, an indoor gymnasium, cool-down rooms, a welcoming reception area, and three acres of outdoor space. The expansion allows New Story Schools to reach significantly more students with autism, emotional support needs, and other learning differences.

A Resource for the Whole Community
Dr. Jill Blanchard, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Operations for New Story Ohio—and a Circleville native—spoke passionately at the open house about the school’s mission and deep commitment to community involvement.

“It’s really important to us that we aren’t just here providing a service within these walls,” Blanchard said. “Our work is about supporting the whole child, and that means supporting the entire family.”
Blanchard shared a touching story about a family whose neurodivergent child was able to attend a sibling’s soccer game for the first time thanks to preparation and therapy provided by New Story staff. “These are the moments that matter,” she said. “We’re not just transforming the student’s life—we’re empowering the family.”

The school’s philosophy emphasizes collaboration with local agencies, public safety departments, and school districts. New Story Schools often work hand-in-hand with first responders to build mutual understanding and ensure safety for children with autism and other conditions that may affect communication and behavior.

Building Partnerships with Districts and Families
Unlike many private programs, New Story Schools fosters positive partnerships with public and private school districts. Many students transition back to their home districts after behavioral or emotional progress, while others complete their full academic journey at New Story, earning a diploma and life skills.
The school also offers in-home outreach services, early intervention, and support during transitions from residential care. Plans are underway to expand services further through partnerships with private Christian schools and additional outreach programming in the region.
Ready for the 2025–2026 School Year
The Circleville campus is the latest addition to New Story’s six locations across Ohio, including sites in Columbus and other areas. The school serves students ages 5 to 21 in grades K–12, offering individualized programming designed by a multi-disciplinary team of educators and therapists.
Jobs for the new site have already been created, with specialized staff in place ahead of the fall start. And yes—staff members are already excited to take part in local traditions like the Pumpkin Show, further rooting the school in the Circleville community.
“A Great Addition to Circleville”
Dr. Blanchard emphasized how meaningful the location is to her personally. “This community means a lot to me. My parents still live here, and I attend church here. It’s important that this school truly serves and adds value to Circleville. I’m excited for the community to see the space and the positive impact it can have for local families.”
