Free Premiere and Director Q&A Set for Sept. 21 at Ohio Christian University
CIRCLEVILLE — Pickaway County will soon play host to a special stop on a national film tour. The award-winning feature film The American Constitution will premiere locally on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 4 p.m. at the Ohio Christian University Ministry and Performing Arts Center, 1476 Lancaster Pike. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
The film, directed by award-winning filmmaker David Garrigus, dramatizes the creation of the U.S. Constitution using the Founding Fathers’ own words. With an accomplished cast portraying George Washington, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin and other figures, the movie brings to life the passionate debates that shaped America’s most enduring document.
Following the screening, Garrigus will host a live Q&A session, giving audiences a rare opportunity to discuss the film and its historical context directly with the writer and director.
“We are honored to bring this powerful and timely film to Pickaway County,” said Elizabeth Furniss, Director of the Pickaway County Visitors Bureau. “Understanding the principles that shaped our government is vital, and this event offers a meaningful way for our community to reflect on our shared history as we look toward America’s 250th anniversary.”
The free event is sponsored by the Pickaway County Visitors Bureau, City of Circleville, Daughters of the American Revolution Pickaway Plains Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution Camp Charlotte Chapter, Village of Williamsport, and Ohio Christian University.
Admission is free, but tickets are required. Reservations can be made on Eventbrite or at Pickaway.com/movie. Additional details about local events leading up to America’s 250th anniversary can be found at Pickaway.com/America250.
