CIRCLEVILLE, OH – A striking art installation from the 2024 Burning Man community, dubbed “Equinox of Curiosity,” made an unexpected appearance in Circleville on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Described as a “horse of a different color,” this two-headed, neon yellow-green sculpture adorned with dozens of glowing googly eyes was a centerpiece at the “Curiouser & Curiouser” theme during the Burnal Equinox event held March 9-10, 2024, at Public Works in San Francisco. That event, marking the midpoint between Burning Man festivals and the start of a new creative season, celebrated curiosity, the irrational, and the unknown under the theme “The Curious Circus of Puzzling ARTifacts!”Crafted by Electric Glitter Cafe, the statue gained attention with a pre-event social media post quoting The Wizard of Oz: “What kind of a horse is that? I’ve never seen a horse like that before! … He’s the Horse of a Different Color you’ve heard tell about.”

After its San Francisco debut, the sculpture traveled to Ohio, featuring prominently at the Secret Dreams Music and Arts Festival at Legend Valley in Thornville from July 18-20, 2025, a multi-genre event fostering an immersive experience for artists and attendees
Where it was stabled since then remained unclear until it surfaced in Circleville this week. Local residents are buzzing about the eye-catching piece, with no clear indication of its next destination. Keep an eye out—its vibrant design is hard to miss! Maybe it will ride in the next Pumpkin Show?
