CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Several individuals faced charges ranging from drug offenses to assault this week in the Pickaway County Common Pleas Court, according to court records from proceedings held Wednesday before Judge Matthew H. Chafin.
Among the cases, Keith Mosley, 45, entered a guilty plea to one count of having weapons under disability, while additional charges including tampering with evidence and drug paraphernalia were dismissed. His bond was revoked and he was ordered to complete a pre-sentence investigation.
In a separate case, Nicholas James Grosscup, 38, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and aggravated possession of drugs. He was sentenced to 12 months on each count, to be served concurrently with his current incarceration.
A more serious case involving Jeffrey C. Rice, 50, remains ongoing. Rice faces multiple felony charges, including trafficking in fentanyl-related compounds and possession of cocaine. His case has been continued until April 15.
Several cases involved Devontae Taylor, 18, who faces multiple assault-related charges across separate filings, including one count of harassment with a bodily substance. Taylor entered not guilty pleas and was released on bond in the cases.
Drug-related charges were also common throughout the docket. Ashlee Shashannon Webb, 37, of Circleville, faces multiple counts including aggravated possession of drugs, possession of fentanyl-related compounds, and possession of cocaine. Webb entered a not guilty plea and was released on bond with conditions, including maintaining employment and complying with pretrial supervision.
In other cases:
- David M. Riffe and Gary L. Gillin Jr. each had capias warrants issued in drug-related cases.
- Tammie Renee Brown, 49, of South Salem, is facing charges including illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility. Her case is scheduled for a jury trial in April.
The court docket reflects an ongoing trend of drug-related offenses in the county, particularly involving fentanyl and other controlled substances, along with a number of violent and behavioral-related charges.
Additional hearings and trial dates are scheduled in the coming weeks as these cases move forward through the court system.
