CIRCLEVILLE — As the holiday season approaches, the Mound Street churches are once again calling on the community to help support local families in need. The 21st Annual Mound Street Churches’ Food Drive will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents are invited to drop off non-perishable food items, as well as cash donations or checks made payable to the Emergency Clearinghouse Food Pantry, at any of the four churches located along Mound Street.
Organizers say the need remains critical. One in five children in Pickaway County faces food insecurity, along with many senior citizens and veterans who struggle to secure enough food to stay healthy and active.
A proverb shared by event organizers underscores the urgency:
“When there is plenty of food on the table, there are many problems to be discussed. When there is no food on the table, there is only one problem to be discussed.”
The community is encouraged to give generously during this time of giving.
Most-Needed Items
While all non-perishable donations are welcomed, items in highest demand include:
- Canned vegetables and fruit
- Canned meats
- Soups and pasta with meat
- Boxed dinners
- Rice and dried beans
- Pasta
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Cleaning and personal products (soap, detergent, toilet paper, paper towels)
The annual drive continues to be an important lifeline for families across Pickaway County, helping ensure no table sits empty during the holidays.
