CHILLICOTHE — A Chillicothe man was issued a summons after allegedly pointing a BB gun at another man during a confrontation over a dog on Wednesday, August 20.

According to police reports, the complainant told officers he was walking his dog near King and Liberty streets when he was approached by a man later identified as 20-year-old Aiden Gragg. The complainant said Gragg questioned whether the dog belonged to him, which led to a heated verbal exchange.

The two men parted ways but later crossed paths again near 617 Liberty Street. The complainant reported that Gragg pointed a rifle-style BB gun at him, saying, “I am a good shot.” The man, who was legally carrying a firearm, said he briefly unholstered his weapon but quickly realized Gragg’s gun was not real. He claimed that Gragg fired several BB rounds in his direction before he called police.

Officers made contact with Gragg, who admitted to confronting the man and displaying a toy gun with an orange barrel. He acknowledged handling the situation poorly but denied firing the gun. Police did not locate the BB rifle described but confirmed no injuries or property damage occurred.

Gragg was cited for disorderly conduct and released with a court date set for August 29 in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
