Circleville, Ohio – Maleah Gardner, a junior at Logan Elm High School, is running for Miss Pumpkin Show this year, sharing her love for the festival and her commitment to her community.
Pumpkin Show and Community
For Maleah, the Pumpkin Show is a time for creating lasting memories with family and friends. “From childhood moments, like dancing through the parades with CPAC, to the excitement of riding in the Queens Parade on Wednesday night, these experiences are cherished for a lifetime,” she said.
When describing the Pumpkin Show to someone who’s never attended, Maleah said, “It’s held in a small town with a big heart. There are exciting parades, everything pumpkin-related, fun activities and shows, and of course, the best food you’ll enjoy all year long.”
Her favorite tradition is family-focused: “When my entire family comes in from out of town, I get to spend time with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and we always grab apple cider slushies while watching the parade of bands.”
Personal and Character
On a personal note, Maleah highlighted her dedication and teamwork in athletics. “Last softball season, I was honored to receive the Brave Award from my coaches at Logan Elm. It reflected my hard work and dedication to the team, encouraging others and helping my peers grow.”
She also credits her mother as her greatest inspiration: “She consistently puts others before herself and radiates God’s love in a way I strive to do. She pushes me every day to be a better person, and through her example, I’m learning to live for the Lord’s approval rather than seeking the approval of others.”
Fun and Personality
When it comes to Pumpkin Show treats, Maleah’s pick is clear: “My favorite pumpkin-flavored treat has to be the pumpkin ice cream at the Circleville Rotary booth. I’m pretty sure I have it every day—maybe even more than once!”
Her most memorable Pumpkin Show experience came through her church: “Working my church booth for Heritage Nazarene, I was surrounded by people who love the Lord and share that love with everyone who stopped by. I felt at peace and filled with joy.”

Pageant and Titleholder Aspirations
Maleah said it would be a great honor to be Miss Pumpkin Show. “I want to boldly display my faith and inspire others to follow Christ through my example. I feel that I could represent the loving community of Circleville and would be excited to share its story with everyone.”
She also hopes to make history as a titleholder: “Having seen so many beautiful young ladies on the Pumpkin Show stage, it would be especially meaningful to me to become the first blended heritage Miss Pumpkin Show Queen, representing my Logan Elm community.”
Advice to Younger Girls
Maleah offered encouragement for aspiring candidates: “Your dreams are always within reach. Don’t give up, and live your life for yourself, honoring God. Surround yourself with those who are wiser, who will lift you up and encourage you along the way. You only get one chance, so don’t let fear or negative opinions hold you back from reaching your goals.”
Maleah will compete alongside other candidates for the 2025 Miss Pumpkin Show crown, taking part in the Wednesday Night Parade on October 15 before competing for Queen at Pumpkin Show Park.
