Chillicothe & the Colonies in Rebellion — An inexpensive opportunity for children to understand the American Revolution in three weeks still has a few openings. “Liberty Camp” is only $25 per child for the evenings of July 27th through August 1st.
Terressa Reep explains the program from “Patriot Square” in Grandview Cemetery, which the children visit at the end of the camp.

She says this is the seventh year for the evening summer camp sponsored by Nathaniel Massie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Arthur St Clair Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. The camp also includes a model of a ship from the Boston Tea Party that they featured for its 200th anniversary a couple years ago.
Liberty Camp is open to ages 9-12, and runs 6 to 9pm at First Presbyterian Church, on Mead Drive off Belleview Avenue in Chillicothe.
The DAR has other activities coming up, including their part of “Camp Sherman Days” at the VA Medical Center north of Chillicothe on July 18 and 19th.
Next year is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and they have a big event at Adena Mansion & Gardens planned.
