CIRCLEVILLE, OH – August 6, 2025 — The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening near Commercial Point Road.
At approximately 4:57 p.m., the Pickaway County Communications Center received a report of a crash in the 18140 block of Commercial Point Road. Deputies arrived to find a 2024 red Chevrolet Colorado that had veered off the road and struck a tree.
Investigators determined that the vehicle had been traveling eastbound, just east of Anderson Road, when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in the crash.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Jason E. Hoffman of Lancaster, Ohio, was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by Harrison Township EMS. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey extended his gratitude to both Harrison Township EMS and Scioto Township EMS for their assistance at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
