CINCINNATI / SAN FRANCISCO — Starting October 1, shoppers across the country will be able to order groceries from nearly 2,700 Kroger-owned stores through DoorDash, the two companies announced Monday.

The expanded partnership gives customers access to Kroger’s full grocery assortment — including fresh foods, household essentials, and its popular private-label “Our Brands” products — with delivery in as little as one hour. Participating Kroger family banners include Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Harris Teeter, and Mariano’s.

“Customers are looking for more convenient ways to shop at their local Kroger store, and delivery is an increasingly important way they engage with us,” said Yael Cosset, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer for Kroger. “Today marks another step in our journey to simplify customers’ lives. We’re making it easier to shop in the way that best fits their day, while still offering lower prices and more relevant offers.”

Through the DoorDash app, shoppers will also have access to Kroger deals, everyday pricing, and loyalty program discounts. The companies say the collaboration will not only bring new customers to Kroger, but also open new opportunities in retail media, customer insights, and delivery innovation.

“With Kroger now on DoorDash nationwide, millions of customers can shop the largest grocer on our platform with the convenience of on-demand delivery,” said Prabir Adarkar, President and COO of DoorDash. “This expansion brings customers access to Kroger’s full assortment … all at affordable prices and deals they already know and trust.”

DoorDash, which launched grocery delivery in 2020, reported record growth in grocery orders earlier this year, with more than a quarter of its global active users ordering from new verticals such as groceries. The company now serves over 42 million monthly active users worldwide.

The partnership positions Kroger to compete more aggressively in the growing online grocery space while tapping into DoorDash’s broad customer base.
