WASHINGTON — Kraft Heinz Foods Company, based in Newberry, S.C., is recalling approximately 367,812 pounds of Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on July 2, 2025.

The recall includes fully cooked turkey bacon produced between April 24 and June 11, 2025. Affected products include 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages (UPC 071871548601, lot code RS40, use-by dates July 18 to August 2, 2025), 36-ounce packages containing three 12-ounce packs (UPC 071871548748, lot codes RS19, RS40, RS42, use-by dates July 23 to September 4, 2025), and 48-ounce packages containing four 12-ounce packs (UPC 071871548793, lot codes RS19, RS40, RS42, use-by dates July 18 to September 4, 2025). All products bear the USDA mark of inspection and were distributed to retail locations nationwide, with some exported to the British Virgin Islands and Hong Kong.

The contamination was identified through laboratory testing at the Kraft Heinz facility. No confirmed reports of illness have been linked to these products, but FSIS warns that listeriosis, caused by Listeria monocytogenes, can be severe for older adults, individuals with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, and newborns. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions, often following gastrointestinal issues. In pregnant women, listeriosis can lead to miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery, or severe newborn infections. Those in high-risk groups experiencing flu-like symptoms within two months of consuming the product should seek medical care.

Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled products and to either discard them or return them to the place of purchase. FSIS is conducting recall effectiveness checks to ensure the products are removed from the market. A retail distribution list will be posted at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls when available.
